Lamaze Trotter the Pony

Young children need even more stimulation that most people realize. Young babies have minds like sponges and can learn quite a bit in a very short amount of time. It is not unusual for a baby to get bored on any given day, and that is why there are so many different toys that are designed to give young babies the stimulation that they need. The Lamaze company makes a variety of different toys that are designed just for this purpose, and one of our favorites is the Lamaze Trotter the Pony.

What Is It?

The Lamaze Trotter the Pony is another stuffed animal by this unique company that has a number of hidden surprises in him. He is considered to be a developmental pony that has a variety of fun things hidden in and on him, starting with the way he looks. He is filled with bright colors and patterns which make him extremely fun to look at and which keep children’s eyes focused on the pony. Visual stimulation is important at this age, and this toy certainly doesn’t disappoint. There are tons of fun things to touch on Trotter, too, including a colorful satin ribbon, textures and crinkles that make each part of his body feel and sound different. The saddle is a peek-a-boo saddle, and there are rings that clink together on Lamaze Trotter the Pony.

The most enjoyable part of this horse for most children are his legs. Pull on his legs and he makes a number of different sounds, rewarding children in a cause and effect way. While very young children may love the look of him, we believe that this toy is perfect for children who are over the age of six months old and who are learning to sit on their own, as he is a fairly large pony.

Why Children Love Him

Young children love the looks of this pony as well as the things that he does. The fact that they can be rewarded when they pull on his feet make it a very fun toy for young children, and the bright colors keep him entertaining as well.

The Verdict

Some parents may get annoyed at how easily Lamaze Trotter the Pony makes noise. Simply walking around the house with him is enough to trigger some of his sounds. Fortunately there is an on/off switch which can keep him from being too annoying and which can save him from having his batteries removed by parents! All annoyances with noise aside, this is one pony that is definitely going to get a lot of play for any child who has it, and that can grow with younger children to be used for a very long time, especially if the children love stuffed animals already.
