High School Musical is a full-length movie that was released in 2006.  It is about Troy, the school’s basketball star, and Gabriella, the school’s science club president.  They audition for the high school’s musical production and end up with the lead roles.  The movie is full of song, dance, and plenty of teenage drama.  Although the movie takes place in a high school setting, most fans of the movies are a slightly younger age group.  Children as young as six years old and as old as 16 years old have been known to fall in love with the High School Musical movie, and there is a range of merchandise available for all ages in between.
