The Fisher Price Little People Zoo Train has Sonya Lee, one of the Little People, as the driver, and three train cars to haul animals from one location to another. There is a lion, a parrot and a giraffe included with the set. As a child moves the train, the giraffe spins around in circles, the lion and another animal can do a teeter- totter motion, and the parrot sits and swings on his perch. While this is a great toy to play with alone, it is also a great addition to an animal collection that include the Little People Zoo and the Little People Petting Zoo. With all three items, kids can interchange with animals ride on the train.
We set up Fisher Price Little People Zoo Train reviews with six kids between the ages of eighteen months and four years, which is the manufacturers recommended age range. Parents sat with us and watched as the kids played with the toys. Most of the younger kids could easily detach the pieces of the train, but only the older kids in the group could reattach them. They had lots of fun pushing the trains around the room, although the younger kids in the group didn’t notice that the animals were moving around as they moved the Fisher Price Little People Zoo Train, because they generally were not looking at the train while they were pushing it around.
During our Fisher Price Little People Zoo Train review time, we did get the song the toy plays firmly stuck in our heads. The train plays a song whenever the driver or one of the animals in pushed down and when the train moves. With several trains going in the room at once, we must admit that it got a little bit loud. This won’t be an issue for most households, but day care centers that by more than one of each toy might run into this. With a few of the Fisher Price Little People Zoo Train sets in use in a room, it is hard to hear that it is a song playing- it sounds more like random beeping. You’ll be fine with just one train though.
The young kids seemed to have a very good time playing with the toys and didn’t lose interest in the Fisher Price Little People Zoo Train even after more than an hour of straight play time. Any toy that can grab and hold the attention of the youngest kids is more than doing its job in our book. The train’s bright colors, durable plastic characters and musical sounds make it even more appealing to little ones who love stimulation of all the senses. Some of the youngest kids were content to simply grab a little animal toy in each hand and walk around the room checking other things out. For some kids, a toy in each hand is enough to keep them out of mischief, and the toys are also safe for kids who might still be in the mouthing stage. The toys are easy to clean when slobbery playtime is over.
