Star Wars was, and will always be, an iconic story for people who love fantasy stories about outer space, heroes, and the battle between good and evil. The Lego Star Wars series has been almost as popular with children as the movie is with most adults!
The Battle of Endor
Children who love building with Lego Star Wars toys will truly enjoy rebuilding The Battle of Endor. This is where, of course, the final battle between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire took place! This kit comes with 12 minifigures (including all of children’s favorites) as well as plenty of other goodies to make the battle come to live in your child’s bedroom. We found this kit to be pretty easy to put together for adults, but a bit challenging for some children, although they did have a great deal of fun playing the final battle with all of the items included in this kit.
Echo Base
The world of the ice planet Hoth is well known to any fan, and is where the snowtroopers attack the Rebel Alliance’s secret base just as Han Solo leaves it. Here the Rebel Alliance can fight back against the snowtroopers thanks to all of the items included in this kit. What we enjoyed about this kit was that it was easy to build and that it included two snowtroopers, two Rebel troopers, and even Han Solo in his winter gear, giving him the chance to fight in this epic battle as well. It even features an opening turret door.
Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter
Before he was with the Empire, Darth Vadar was a very accomplished flier, and the Vader’s TIE Fighter is a reminder of that fact. This is Darth’s personal fighter and is made with a great deal of detail, including bent wings, flick-firing missiles, and the Dark Lord himself, Darth Vadar. We found that it was easy to build and that the wings were fun to adjust. However they could also fall off easily if it was played with too roughly, which is why we recommend that this toy is one that doesn’t get banged around too much or too often.
Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser
Fans of the series who want to be able to seriously collect the sets will truly enjoy the Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser. This cruiser was Grand Chancellor Palpatine’s personal flagship cruiser that he used during the Clone Wars. When built the front panel opens up to show the Chancellor’s quarters, and it comes with plenty of other goodies that make it fun to own. The downside about this one is the price, as it is a bit pricy for young children to own. It is, however, an ideal ship for collectors of the Lego Star Wars toys, or of the movies, to collect and to display.
Anakin’s Y-wing Starfighter
Before Anakin went bad, he was a good guy, and Anakin’s Y-wing Starfighter is a great way to remember that time. This starfighter was used during Anakin when he was on his Jedi missions and features a laser turret (with Ahsoka inside of it!), and even R2D2 to navigate for him. On the plus side, it wasn’t very difficult to build, although there were a few tricky parts that younger children may have a hard time with. On the minus side, the missiles that can launch from it are easily lost, so make sure that you pay attention where the missiles went if a young child is using it.
Separatist Shuttle
There are some Lego Star Wars vehicles that you might not think about right off, and the Separatist Shuttle is one of them, but is actually very fun to play with. This shuttle is fairly easily built, even for children around six years old, and features movable landing gear, an opening cockpit, and a compartment hutch that slides open and closed. On the plus side, it is a sturdy vehicle and is one that can be very fun to play with. On the minus side, there isn’t a huge amount of detail that was put in this vehicle, making it fun, but simple.
Corporate Alliance Tank Droid
These vehicles were responsible for taking down many members of the Rebel Alliance, and now they can be played with in your very living room. The Corporate Alliance Tank Droid is a unique design that is very fun to build as well as to look at. It features moving tank treads, a launcher, and a few troopers and battle droids with it. On the plus side, it’s very fun to play with. On the minus side, however, the treads don’t move very well unless it is on a rough surface such as a carpeted surface. Make sure you play with it on a rug or some sort of fabric and it will be fine, however.
Assasin Droids Battle Pack
In the world of these films there are good guys and there are bad guys. The Assasin Droids Battle Pack is made up of nothing but bad guys, and is a great way to add to your army. This pack features destructive droids, flick-fire missiles (which can be very fun to play with), and a speeder that is fairly easy for even younger children to put together. We found it to be a great beginner toy for the Lego Star Wars toys and feel that it would work perfectly in anyone’s collection. It is, however, a fairly small kit.
Hyena Droid Bomber
The Hyena Droid Bomber was used in an animated feature, and is actually a very unique vehicle. This vehicle transforms from a flying bomber into a planetary walker, which adds to its fun level immensely. It comes with a few droid minifigures and has four bombs that children can drop. It is a fairly easy kit to put together, even for younger children, and looks very simplistic on the outside, which may turn off collectors. It is, however, a sturdy toy for young children to play with and is ideal for children who like The Clone Wars movie.
Armored Assault Tank
The Armored Assault Tank is a great vehicle in the Clone Wars movie that moves quickly and quietly over the battlefield. In the movie it contains one of the best masters of Jedi that has ever existed: Master Yoda, and fans of the series, as well as children who love Lego Star Wars, will be ecstatic that he is also included in this kit! We found this kit a bit difficult for beginners to put together, but once it is together it is very solid and looks amazing, especially when you put Yoda in the vehicle and use it the way that it was meant to be used.
Republic Attack Shuttle
If you’re looking for something powerful to look at in the world of these toys, the Republic Attack Shuttle is definitely that vehicle. This vehicle features auto-firing flick missiles and is able to drop bombs on the enemies. It can even fold up its wings! This kit features master Mace Windu and while it is a bit difficult to put together, especially for those young children who are not overly familiar with Lego Star Wars, it looks amazing once it is completely built. This is one essential item for any collection, especially if you want to be able to beat the droid army!
