To use the Star Wars the Force Trainer simply put the headset on with the sensor touching your forehead and watch what happens. This headset is able to interpret your brainwaves and sense the difference between alpha, beta, gamma, and delta waves. These waves are converted into a linear measure of brain concentration by a computer chip that is inside the training tower. This computer chip uses an algorithm to interpret the data received from your brain waves which in turn is translated into physical action enabling a fan that is located inside the base of the training tower to lift the training sphere. Your control of the training sphere is determined by how deep you concentrate and how well you focus your attention. The deeper you concentrate and focus, the higher the training sphere will rise. Basically the strength of your brainwaves will determine the power of the air used to lift the training sphere. There are 15 levels of challenging sequences to achieve in the training. You start out at Level 1 as a Padawan and can continue up to the top level, Level 15, a Jedi Master. You will be encouraged and guided through the levels by the voice of the one and only, Jedi Master Yoda. Adding to the Star Wars authenticity, other familiar Star Wars sound effects will acknowledge your accomplishments and cue you on. Your advancement and current level of accomplishment is displayed on the Training Tower control panel.

This entertaining object is also a way to teach science and its use in various venues to children and adults alike. The actual technology has been considered for use in TV remote controls, stereo systems, and video games. There are also various medical applications that might benefit from using this technology. Isn’t it exciting to see that something once thought only possible in movies is actually becoming a reality? This best toys 2009 list member is helping pave the way for this to happen.
