For the budding science guy or gal, the Eyeclops Bionicam could be one of the best toys ever. This is also a good toy for kids who are simply curious and love to explore the world around them. One Eyeclops Bionicam review said that it was difficult to get kids to put the toy down. The reviewer said her son played with it so much, he was even often looking at her with his Bionic eye! That is quite a feat for an educational toy. The longer kids use it, the more they learn. Parents love to see their children learning, and when they start to love learning, that’s even better. On a cognitive level, this type of activity is much better for kids than long hours spent in from of most video games, and it is lots of fun, too.

The Bionicam is like a microscope that can also take digital pictures. Children can look at any object close up, at magnifications of 100x, 200x, or 400x. They can look at it as long as they want to with the device’s LCD viewfinder screen, and then take a digital picture of it. But the fun doesn’t end there! The picture can then be viewed on the screen of any TV, and with the included USB key, children can email pictures of their magnified discoveries to friends and family. According to Eyeclops Bionicam reviews, the pictures are good quality and fun to look at, and the email well too. The software is easy to use, and installs in just minutes.

The Bionicam is powered by a battery pack, and Eyeclops Bionicam reviews seem to be in agreement that it lasts for a reasonable period of time. However, it may be a good idea to order an extra battery pack when you buy Eyeclops Bionicam, to avoid any waiting time while the battery is recharging. The battery pack is especially handy because it allow the child to take it anywhere. Kids can look at everything in the car on a microscopic level, so they’re unlikely to care whether or not “we’re there yet”- they’ll be too busy exploring to notice how much time has gone by.

While it is a toy and not a real piece of scientific equipment, it is a great toy to get the kids interested in science. They can look at anything super close up, from the hairs on their arms to the ants in the front yard- even their siblings’ noses! Everything looks different magnified several hundred times, and kids can see the little details in everyday objects that can make them realize there is a world of cells at work on a level that is not visible to the naked eye. If your child should decide he wants to know what a potato chip looks like close up, the Eyeclops Bionicam can make a simple chip look like a rough mountain fit for climbing. Kids will start to wonder what everything looks like close up. The best part is that the Bionicam can be used indoors and outdoors, so that kids will never run out of things to look at.

One Eyeclops Bionicam review says that it is best used by a child between eight and fourteen years old. As with any other device of its kind, it can be damaged by rough or careless handling, so it’s best used by kids old enough to understand this. That said, it is built durably enough that as long as the child is not throwing it against the wall, it should stand up well to normal use. This is a very good thing, because it is likely to get a great deal of use.

Puzzibits Flexible 3D Puzzle Art sets are a building / puzzle toy brought to us by Manhattan Toy. The individual pieces are hexagonal in shape and come in twelve different colors, red, orange, white, black, dark blue, light blue, dark green, light green, pink, purple, grey and yellow. The hexagonal pieces interlock through small circles and pins on alternating sides. The small circles are slightly lower than the hexagonal face of the piece and the small pins are underneath the hexagonal face so that when they are interlocked you can only see the hexagonal face of the Puzzibits piece.

There are ten different sets which allow you to build different combinations of things. The Captain’s Crew set lets you build a two dimensional skull and crossbones, a two dimensional parrot or a three dimensional pirate saber. The Lovely Princess set lets you build a 2D princess, a 2D castle or a 3D tiara. The Prehistoric Predator set lets you build a 2D crocodile, a 3D dinosaur or a 3D shark. The Super Safari set lets you build a 2D monkey, a 2D tiger, a 3D lion or a 3D zebra. The Ocean Depths set lets you build a 2D sail boat, a 2D seahorse, a 2D octopus or a 3D turtle. The Pretty Pink Pets set lets you build a 2D kitten, a 2D ballerina bear, a 3D dog or a 3D flamingo. The Monster Madness set lets you build a 2D alien, a 2D crab like monster or a 3D dragon. The Garden Delight set lets you build a 2D flower, a 2D butterfly, a 2D butterfly and flower or a 3D dragonfly. The Wacky Wear set lets you build a 3D mask, 3D hat or a 3D tie. The Mega Mix set has enough pieces to build all the creations above and is by far the best value.

With all the small pieces in the Puzzibits Flexible 3D Puzzle Art sets (one thousand two hundred and fifty pieces in the Mega Mix set) are not for small children. These toy sets are rated for children six years old and older. In our Puzzibits reviews we used two different age groups; six to eight years old and nine to twelve years old. All of the children had a wonderful time assembling the different creatures and things from the detailed instructions that accompany each set. Some of the instructions are a little hard for the younger ones to follow though so a having a parent nearby is not a bad idea.

The Puzzibits review with the older group of children revealed that not long after they got their hands on these entertaining little toys, they were more fond of coming up with their own creations than of building by the instructions. Toy sets that children can get creative with and build whatever they want have always been a great success and Puzzibits, with its uniquely shaped pieces and bright colors is no exception. We came to the conclusion that not only would we recommend this toy, but most of us were going right out to buy some for our own homes as well.

All little kids, at one point or another, want to be a firefighter, a policeman, or a paramedic when they grow up. There is something very attractive for kids about the idea of rushing in at the sound of an alarm and saving the day- or saving someone’s life. For kids who dream of being one of the everyday heroes we depend on, the Rescue Heroes Command Center is a great toy. This command center is the central base for all three rescue services in one consolidated building. The toy has, obviously, a command center inside where the calls ‘come in’ and orders are given. The kids playing with the toy can use the voice memory system built in to record their own voices giving the commands and then can play them back for the rescue team over the speakers for everyone to hear loud and clear. And speaking of loud and clear, the Rescue Heroes Command Center also has lights and sirens that kids can operate at the touch of a button for more realistic play time. There is a helicopter landing pad on the roof of the building, a satellite dish for the newest technology in miniature communication, climbing hooks, a map to route the way to various rescue points, and cubbies where the rescuers store their rescue packs. A particularly cool feature to the Rescue Heroes Command Center is the fire pole where rescue heroes can slide down to get to the ground floor faster in case of an emergency call.

For the purposes of our Rescue Heroes Command Center reviews, we recruited eight kids, both boys and girls, to test out the toy. The toy is rated for kids three and up due to the small parts included with the set that can become detached and turn into choking hazards. For this reason, our future rescuers were all between the ages of four and eight. After introducing them to the toys and assuming our observer positions in a corner of the room, we watched as the kids chose their favorite characters and began to create all sorts of different emergencies. They especially love the voice memory feature, and used it almost incessantly for the entire play period.

What we learned during our Rescue Heroes Command Center review process is that while the girls didn’t enjoy themselves quite as much as the boys, we believe this is only because the girls had a slightly different play style than the girls. Had we done two separate reviews, one with the boys and one with just the girls, we are pretty confident that the girls would have enjoyed themselves a lot more. The girls in the group were basically playing amongst themselves in the middle of the larger group, and the boys barely noticed because their play style was more loud and rowdy. There was a lot of yelling going on, but it was all in fun and seemed like it was part of their ‘this is an emergency situation’ play. We feel confident recommending the Rescue Heroes Command Center to parents for their children.

For people who have never heard of Blokus before or played the game, here’s how it works. There is a game board and lots of little odd shaped pieces included in four different colors. In the original game, the pieces look quite a bit like Tetris pieces. In the new Blokus Trigon game, the pieces are very angular and strange looking. The original game board in a rectangle, the new game board is a hexagon. Each player is assigned a color, and players take turns placing a game piece on the board so that each new piece only touches the tippy corner of another piece. The object is to place all your pieces on the board first. Sounds simple, but it’s not. You can be blocked by another player’s pieces, and your pieces can block another player’s moves. Many times, there are still pieces to be placed when there are no more moves possible on the board. In this case, the player who has placed the most pieces on the board wins.

With both games, there are several different ways to play. You can give each player a color and have four players in the game. You can play the ‘drafting’ variation and give each player two colors. In this version, only two players can play. Or, one person can play a solitaire version, trying to get as many pieces as possible on the board before running out of moves. Each game of it only takes about thirty minutes on average, so it’s easy to fit a game into a busy day. But be warned, Blokus has been called highly addictive and you may find yourself wanting to play more and more and maybe even thinking about possible piece placements in your head hours before your next game, or hours after your last game. People who love the game Tetris will really love these two games.

This game has won awards for its capacity to make players think in new and abstract ways. The game has actually been praised by the super smart people at Mensa for being a game that can really make people smarter. Both versions of the game are great to get players thinking, and it can be played by five year olds or by adults. Blokus and Trigon are games that the whole family can play together. The games are a great opportunity for parents to teach kids to find different ways to look at any situation.

The Razor e300 Electric Scooter is an electric version of the traditional foot- propelled scooter kids have been riding for generations. It has a plank to stand on, called a deck, and a pole with handlebars on the end to serve both as a handle for balance and to house a hand- operated throttle and hand brake. To conduct our reviews, we provided all the essential safety gear such as helmets, knee pads, gloves, elbow pads, and made sure that all the kids arrived in sturdy tennis shoes. Then we turned the kids loose, each with their own Razor e300 Electric Scooter, in a large concrete play area. On one end, we had just a large open space and on the other end, we set up several obstacle courses to test functions such as steering, short stopping, and bumpy surface handling. The entire play area was a flat surface, just as the owner’s manual instructs.

The kids were quite cautious at first- after all, the scooter goes up to fifteen miles per hour, and that’s faster than the ride on toys they are used to. The chain- driven motor is surprisingly quiet and very steady, although it can’t handle an incline- even a shallow one. But the kids had lots of fun riding around on the flat surface we provided. During the testing phase, we learned that it is perfectly safe to come to an abrupt stop on the Razor because the brake is on the back tire, so there is no chance of flipping forward during a sudden stop.

Because it has a generous weight limit of 220 pounds, and because it is electric and therefore environmentally friendly, a couple of our adult reviewers are talking about buying a Razor e300 Electric Scooter to ride to work and back. Since they both live fairly close to work, that idea would probably work for them as long as they also pack a lunch. The scooter only has 45 minutes of continuous use per battery charge, so as long as you live within a forty minute drive (at 15 miles per hour, that is) of your workplace, and you can plug in the battery to charge for a full eight hour work day, then that idea might work for you as well. Everyone is concerned about gas prices, and many are also concerned about the environment, so a product like this is appealing as alternative transportation.

As a part of our review, we feel compelled to let parents know that this thing does move pretty quickly for a child’s ride on toy. Fifteen miles an hour doesn’t seem too fast to parents who have been driving at 65 miles an hour on a regular basis for many years, but fifteen miles an hour is faster than the majority of parents can run at top speed. The average ride on toy goes a maximum of six miles per hour. We must also strongly caution parents to provide all the proper safety gear and insist that their children wear all of the gear every single time they ride the scooter.

The Martian Matter Alien Maker Spaceship is made by Hasbro. This play set is rated for ages five and up and comes with three two ounce bottles of gooey Lunar Lava gel in different colors- red, orange and green; three two ounce cans of re-usable Meteor Mud clay compound in different colors- blue, orange and green; fourteen out of the ordinary mix n’ match alien half molds, a plastic knife, a plastic roller, a pair of plastic tweezers, a plastic cutter and a super cool alien spaceship.

We performed the Martian Matter Alien Maker Spaceship reviews with several children ages five through ten years old. The way this toy is used is as follows: The child or children pick out two of the molds, and then they decide what color or colors of the reusable Meteor Mud compound to press into the mold. They then use the plastic knife to trim off any excess material and use the plastic tweezers to remove the alien from the mold. After that they can use any or all of the three different colors of the Lunar Lava gel to decorate their new alien creation. With the fourteen different half molds, three colors of the reusable Meteor Mud compound and the three different colors of the Lunar Lava gel the number of different aliens kids can make is almost endless. When the children have finished constructing their own new alien creatures the Martian Matter Alien Maker Spaceship has three clear plastic globes on top so they can set their favorite ones aside. The alien creations they do not want to save can be recycled and made into different creatures. The children really seemed to enjoy flattening their aliens with the plastic roller or slicing them into small pieces with the included plastic knife. Overall we would say that the Martian Matter Alien Maker Spaceship is a great toy. Not only does this entertaining toy help develop children’s imagination and creativity; it is also a perfect toy for hours of fun on a rainy day. The children who participated in these reviews completely lost track of time and did not want to stop playing with the Martian Matter Alien Maker Spaceship even when their hour and a half was up.

The Martian Matter Alien Maker review we conducted with the five year olds taught us quickly that, although this toy is rated five years and up, the younger children have a hard time getting their new alien creations out of the molds without messing them up or tearing a limb off. But with a little parental help they will have just as much fun as their older counterparts creating their own unique alien race. The reusable Meteor Mud compound is a non-toxic wheat based concoction with a warning on the box that it is not a food item. The box also warns that the Lunar Lava gel will stain some surfaces and that there are numerous small parts that are choking hazards so close parental supervision of the smaller children is a definite must.

Shaun White Snowboarding is an all new video game produced by Ubisoft. It is supported by PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, X Box 360, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo Wii video game systems and Personal Computers. This game is rated for kids three years old and older. This is one of the video games that parents can feel comfortable allowing their kids to play unsupervised, as there is no objectionable content whatsoever. The scenes and people in the game are fairly realistic- quite realistic as video games go, and the background music is entertaining as well.

Shaun White Snowboarding offers four mountains for your snowboarding adventures Alaska, Japan, the Alps and Park City, Utah. Each mountain was designed with three tiers blended seamlessly together; the resort area where there are ramps to jump, rails to grind, the chairlift for a quick ride to the top and other people (other real people if you are playing online with your friends); under the tree line area where you can twist and turn through the trees and go wherever you want; and above the tree line area where there are rocks to dodge, cliffs to jump off of and crevices to jump over in an avalanche prone area. In the wide open mountain areas of Shaun White Snowboarding, there is no set course, you can go just anywhere you want and do just about anything you want.

As we learned during our Shaun White Snowboarding reviews and observations, this exciting new snowboarding game offers three camera views: The standard third person view that most game systems use, a contextual camera angle which offers you a better view of the dangers and obstacles ahead of you, and a first person camera view that allows you to see everything that your character would see. Another feature of the first person camera view is that you can actually record videos of your friends doing tricks or stunts and share them with other gamers on the Shaun White Snowboarding website. These videos are limited to sixty seconds long but it is still a very neat feature.

Another observation we made during our Shaun White Snowboarding review is that kids and teenagers alike simply love playing this game. It is fun and exciting to be able to snowboard on mountains all over the world and to learn tricks and practice them enough to perfect them. The interesting combinations of buttons require no small amount of hand eye coordination, but that is one thing that the game can provide to players of all ages in addition to countless hours of virtual snowboarding fun.

For those who have no idea who Shaun White is, he is a world class snowboarder who has been competing professionally since the age of fourteen. He won an Olympic Gold Medal in 2006, and has won numerous awards in the X Games competitions since age fourteen. He is now 22 years old, and kids all over the world look up to him as one of the best snowboarders around.

Razor e100 Electric Scooter Review

While we were conducting the Razor e100 Electric Scooter review we came to the conclusion that this is a very well made scooter. The frame is strong enough to easily support children up to the weight limit while keeping the weight down to a slight twenty nine pounds. The kid sized deck has plenty of room to stand on but not bulky enough to be clumsy. The adjustable handlebar height lets you fit the Razor e100 Electric Scooter to the child riding it for safe and comfortable operation. The twist grip throttle gives the little ones the same feel as riding a full sized motorcycle. The hand brake on the other side of the handlebar provides adequate braking power but we would suggest some strong parental supervision until the rider gets the hang of stopping where they want to stop. We would also have preferred to see a brake on the back wheel instead of the front to avoid the risk of tip over. The large one hundred and twenty five millimeter rear wheel aids novice riders by making it easier to balance and also gives excellent traction. The one hundred watt high torque motor did not seem to have any trouble at all powering along on a flat surface, but it doesn’t handle hills well. The new chain drive design provides no slip power transfer from the motor to the rear wheel.

One thing we noticed while performing the Razor e100 Electric Scooter reviews was that the closer the rider was to the one hundred and twenty pound weight limit the longer it took the scooter to get near the ten mile per hour mark. There was one complaint that we heard from all of our testers, which was the relatively short forty minute continuous use time compared to an extended charge time of sixteen hours. Overall we would have to say this is an outstanding, environmentally friendly ride on toy for short bursts of play time.

With all ride on toys safety is a major concern, and a ride on toy with a motor makes that doubly so. With the proper safety precautions the Razor e100 Electric Scooter is great fun. Parental supervision and a helmet is an absolute must, elbow pads and knee pads are also highly recommended.

The all new Domo from Jakks Pacific may have a fierce look on his face but it’s gentle and plush. Domo is a welcome face known the world over. For about $15, Domo is a great plush stuffed animal for children ages 3 and up. Domo is the well known mascot of the Japanese television network NHK. Domo is rugged enough for children to play with, yet cute and cuddly and collectable enough to set on a shelf among the rest of your stuffed animal collection.

Domo is said to hatch from eggs, and ‘grows’ to three different sizes, small, medium, and jumbo, giving it enough variety to fit the stuffed animal needs of children ages 3 and up. Domo stands from 6 inches to about 16 inches tall, and it actually stands on its own two feet (unique from most two-footed plush stuffed animals). How does it do this? Domo’s feet are rectangular in shape and are rigid on the bottom allowing for a sturdy base, yet soft and furry at the same time making his feet touchable. Domo’s arms and hands hang down to his sides, but they have the ability to move freely up and down and side to side.

And just try to look past Domo’s eyes, his beady brown endearing eyes. They’re fierce at first glance, but delve deeper into those depthless eyes and there is gentleness to be discovered. But what really gives Domo his fierce façade is his mighty mouth. Domo’s jagged teeth are made of quality soft white felt. And what makes them really pop out at you is his deep red mouth, also made of quality soft felt. But what children will love the most about these plush Domo dolls of various sizes, is Domo’s soft and fluffy fur. It’s dark brown, curly, and feels like the fibers of a soft new towel.

Bring this Japanese sensation home for your children by getting them Domo this holiday season. Legend has it; Domo hatches from eggs and grows to be 6 inches to about 16 inches tall. With Domo’s many sizes, there is a Domo plush doll for any child age 3 years old and up. Although Domo may look like a fierce creature, he is anything but fierce and ferocious. He’s cute and cuddly. Domo is rugged enough to play with, yet Domo is soft and squeezable and he is always ready to curl up on a couch in front of the television or with a good book, or cuddle in bed and just relax and fall into a peaceful sleep. Domo also gets along well with others and has no problem standing on a shelf among the other stuffed animals in your collection.
