Of course, children won’t be able to find kids toys which allow them to be able to actually fly like Tony, but they can sound and look a lot like him!

The Helmet

The Iron Man Deluxe Helmet is a fun item that children and adults alike will absolutely love. This helmet allows you to actually become Iron Man, well, at least part of him. It fits over the head and has a strap to secure it as well as padding to make it comfortable to wear. There are a few different modes that children can select from. First, however, you need to actually lower the visor. Just like the real suit’s helmet, this helmet’s visor can go up and down slowly, making the person behind the mask feel exactly how Tony Stark must feel when his visor goes down!

Once the visor’s down, light up the eyes so that your enemies can see you and can know that you mean business! Select the quick missions’ button and you’ll hear Tony say a number of cool phrases, such as, “I am Iron Man,” and, “Target engaged.” Select the Battle Sounds option and you’ll find that the helmet has all sorts of combat, flight, and power-up sounds. And then there is the Combat Missions button. This button wakes up Jarvis, Tony’s super-intelligent computer, and has him give you a mission to perform.

You may not be able to buy a whole suit for your child to become this amazing superhero, but you can give them the ability to feel like they’re truly Tony Stark with the Iron Man Deluxe Helmet and all of the cool things that it can do!

The basic model

The essential component of these toys is the mini skateboard. It can also be called a fingerboard as kids “ride” the boars using their index and middle fingers as they would their feet on a standard size board. GX Racers toys employ a Gyro wheel in the center of each vehicle, a skateboard in this case, to create speed and tricks. Gyro wheels are interchangeable and each has a different graphic design emblazoned on it. There are four different board deck shapes and tons of wheels to collect. GX Racers Skate toys use the same rip cord and Gyro wheel as the GX Racers cars so they operate in a similar manner and are one of the top toys 2010. The toys can be used on track or off so they are portable and easy to share with friends.

The advanced course

Several play sets are available in this line. Kids can play with the individual finger boards on their own or create complex courses by adding and combining sets for advanced stunts and tricks. A good starter kit is the Speed Assortment. It contains a single board and Gyro wheel, plus the rip cord to get them going. As kids get more serious about collecting, they can move on to the Stunt Assortment or Deluxe Assortment with accessories to jump over. They can also collect additions like a quarter pipe or a park bench for performing realistic stunts and tricks with their fingerboards. There are even stair and rail grind sets for serious stunts.

Critiques

GX Racers Skate kids toys are small and light so they can achieve a good bit of speed. Kids will need sufficient space, like a long hallway or a large room, to keep the boards from colliding with the walls. Their small size makes them a great travel toy. Kids can pack several into a suitcase or keep a few in the car without sacrificing cargo space. The extremely affordable price tag makes collecting easy on parent’s pocketbooks, too. Small kits can be found for under $10 while even large play sets rarely cost more than $25. These little boards pack a lot of play into a small package.

Description

The Turbo Launcher is one of the latest additions to the GX Racers collection of toys. It’s a red, blue and black device with a lever styled handle on the top that revs and releases the cars when it is drawn back. This motorized accessory boosts the speed of the cars as they are launched from its shoot. The wedge shaped device attaches any GX track set and shoots the cars down a small ramp. The manufacturers claim that the speed at which the cars make their exit is up to 700 scale MPH. Scale MPH, or miles per hour, is the speed they would achieve if the cars were regulation size.

Features and Extras

The cars in this line have the usual four wheels at the corners but they also flip open to reveal a special Gyro wheel in the center of the car. This interchangeable Gyro wheel is what allows the car to perform tricks or go at faster speeds. The GX Racers Turbo Launcher comes with a special Gyro wheel built for speed. The set also comes with a car body. It has two setting, on track and off-road, so it can be used on its own or with a full track set up.

Critiques

The GX Racers set has some small parts that could constitute a choking hazard so it’s not a good pick for small children. It’s best to heed the suggested age range on the packaging. Compatibility with other brands of tracks may be an issue, as well. The Turbo Launcher might fit or be made to function with other brands of track but this is not recommended. It may cause the cars to exceed the speed limitations of the track’s curves causing the cars to leave the tracks. At the speed this launcher creates, that may not be a safe way to play so it’s probably best to stay within the GX line of products to avoid this problem. Aside from that, at a suggested retail of only $14.99 this toy could add some inexpensive excitement to the playroom.
