There are times when you’re looking for games that you can play with your children. Those times when you’re looking for games that could easily be listed as the coolest board games for 2011. But then there are those times when you’re looking for a game that can be played that is definitely not for children – a game that is perfect to play when you have friends coming over and you plan on having a few drinks. If that’s what you’re searching for then the Cards Against Humanity game is definitely something that you would want to pick up.
The game has been compared to Apples 2 Apples and in many ways it is similar. But this game is different because it is definitely a more, well, naughty version of the game. The concept is the same, but you may find that you have a great deal more fun with this type of game than with Apples 2 Apples simply because it is definitely for adult audiences!

How to Play
So how do you play Cards Against Humanity? You are dealt a specific number of white cards. These cards all have “answers” on them, but it’s your responsibility to use the answers as you see fit. The answer cards say all sorts of things, from phrases like “All you can eat shrimp” to “Sarah Palin”. Then one person is deemed the Card Czar, and they are the one that is in charge of the whole game. The Card Czar then pulls a card from the black Question cards. The question is not necessarily a question, although some are, but many times it is a statement. For instance the Card Czar may read something like “Life was difficult for cavemen before…”. It is your responsibility to answer the question drawn or to finish the statement!
For instance you may use the “all you can eat shrimp” card to answer the “life was difficult for cavemen before” card. So what is the goal? The goal is to have the most funny answer or statement for the Card Czar. It is the Card Czar who is responsible for telling you what the best and most funny solution to the black question card is, and it is he (or her) that you want to get to laugh. The person who gets to whatever set number of rounds you have set before the play begins is the winner!

Yes, as you see we love the cards the most. The cards are simply hilarious and are the main reason why anyone should play the game. One of the best things about the cards is that, alone, they’re completely harmless. It’s only when you pair them with each other that they become hilarious and possibly risqué! Another thing to love is that the cards are pretty much waterproof, making them perfect to be playing with when you have drinks around.
Firstly this card game is not for young children and even though it says for 17 and up a lot of parents would probably not want their 17 year old playing the game. It is, however, absolutely hilarious for adults and is one of the more fun adult games we’ve played in a long time. We can’t even complain about the cards that come with Cards Against Humanity, as the game doesn’t get boring simply because you can constantly change up things! You never know what answer card you’ll get so you never know what sort of answer you’ll have for the question card.
What People Are Saying
Cards Against Humanity may not win for the top toys of 2011, but it has our vote as one of the most hilarious adult card games we’ve ever seen. You definitely need to play this one in a crowd, though, as you’ll need one person to be the Card Czar and others to play. Chances are good that your game will go longer than an hour, as the game is simply too funny to stop playing.
