The Imaginext Firehouse is part of Fisher-Price’s Imaginext line, which is a series of toys designed to incite imagination through realistic action features. There’s a lot of action going on at this particular firehouse. The set includes a firehouse, a fire truck, three firemen, a set of bunk beds, an emergency control center, and additional firefighting tools and accessories. It basically has everything you would need to pretend you were a firefighter.
Fun Firefighting Features
We love all of the fun firefighting features that come with the Imaginext Firehouse. Kids will love the movable fire truck with a fire hose that actually lowers and rises into the air. With one push of a button, the fire truck makes numerous emergency noises and sounds. As for the command center itself, kids can learn how to open and close the doors and windows with a single twist, raise the ladder, and discover a secret trapdoor. There’s even a fire pole that the firemen can slide down incase there’s a fire emergency. For some extra fun, there’s a water gun located at the top of the play center. Push another button and the gun will fire a plastic blob of water across the room. It’s a pretty authentic toy, and the designers modeled it to be as close to the real thing as possible while still adding play value The variety of action features make the set a lot of fun to play with, and offer that extra bit of excitement that a stationary choice might be lacking.
The Price
The Imaginext Firehouse is a bit more expensive than other choices in this product line. It retails for about $70.00, but here are a lot of accessories included in the set, which is a bonus. Some sets only come with one or two figurines and a few accessories. But this one includes three different firemen, and numerous fire tools and accessories. Additional firemen can be purchased separately, but unless the original ones are lost or misplaced it probably won’t be necessary. This is a great gift for any child who is interested in fire trucks and firemen. The action features add to the realistic nature of the toy and offer additional excitement. It’s hard to believe that any child would grow bored when playing with this toy. There’s too much to do and play with, and this one, like most in this line, live up to their goal of creating imaginative play in every home.
