An Out of the Box game, kids who like the martial arts or ninjas might be interested in playing Ninja versus Ninja. It is meant for kids ages 8 and up, but adults can play too if they are so inclined. It can take a little bit of time to learn, but as players get the hang of it, they become more and more skilled with each game.
Ninja Sneak Attack
Ninja versus Ninja is, as the creators say, “a stealthy game of swords and rewards.” Indeed, only by smartly moving little ninjas around on the board can players win the game. Some kids might be reminded of checkers, as one side of ninjas wear dangerous red and the other side has the traditional ninja black.
A roll of the uniquely ninja-themed shaped dice will tell a player how many spaces he or she can move. By choosing the right places, a player can land on an opposing ninja and eliminate the piece from the board. Simple strategy can take out ninjas left and right, leading to a win.
On a Mission
However, there is more than one way to win, which helps give Ninja versus Ninja more playing power. Ninja pieces can venture into enemy dojo territory. The farther you move a piece into the dojo, the more points you get. But putting pieces into the dojo area also puts them in more danger of getting eliminated by enemy ninjas. It’s a sticky situation, which is why smart plays can win the day.
Though it is not to say that girls will dislike the game, it is likely to be more fun for boys. While initial games might go fast, as players learn and develop more ideas on how to defeat opponents, games may very well become longer and more involved.
