Crayola Glow Station

Numerous Crayola Glow Station reviews are giving the product generous praise, saying it’s the best art toy they have ever seen.  Kids seem to really enjoy creating art with this toy, possibly because it is unlike any other art method available before.  Most kids adapt quickly to toys that are new and different, and this one certainly isn’t an exception to that rule.

Here’s how the Crayola Glow Station works.  Hang the glow in the dark canvas on a wall using the built- in hanging devices.  Turn off the lights, making sure that no light can get into the room through windows or doors, and then use the light wand to draw lots of original freehand pictures.  The set comes with stencils, so artists can make all sorts of shaped and animals.  For the child who would rather draw out their artwork in advance and then transfer it to the light board, the set contains an acetate sheet and a dry erase marker.  The child can draw a picture on the acetate sheet with the dry erase marker, and then take it into the darkened room, hold it against the glow board, and use the light wand to trace the design.

Some Crayola Glow Station reviews say that this is a great way for kids to be creative without the mess of traditional art methods.  There are no paints to be spilled on the carpet or slopped into the walls, no chalk to create dust all over the couch, and no markers to clean off of little hands.  Unlike crayons, the light wand never needs sharpening and it doesn’t get smaller and smaller as your child uses it.

One Crayola Glow Station review posted by a single mom who is also a college student says that she sets her child up with this toy when she needs to get some work done, and her child plays quietly for hours, stopping only to show off her artwork.  This can be incredibly handy for busy parents, and those who might just need a few minutes of peace and quiet every once in a while.

One Crayola Glow Station review says that it’s a good idea to stock up on batteries because this toy tends to use up a set of batteries after several hours of use.  It requires three AAA batteries.  You will also need something in the wall to hang the board on, such as a simple nail or a picture hook.

If you buy Crayola Glow Station for your children, be sure to also purchase some plain old, regular transparency sheets to copy your little Picasso’s artwork before it is erased off the glow board canvas.  Another use for this toy could be to make your own postcards.  Just take a digital picture of your child’s artwork, load it into your computer, and print it off onto postcard paper.  These are great to send out at holiday time or any time to send greetings or updates to family and friends.

The Crayola Glow Station is intended for kids ages six to fifteen, but parents may very well have just as much fun with it as the kids do.  Our staff certainly had lots of fun testing it out, and they are not easily amused.  One person pointed out that this toy might be a clever way to get kids over a fear of the dark, since they have to go into a darkened room to use it.  The board creates its own light, but it’s no brighter than a nightlight.  You child may totally forget that he or she in standing in the dark.
