Who didn’t thoroughly enjoy the movie Avatar? It was one awesome, adventurous time with heart-pounding battles and amazing effects. So what better way to get the feel of the movie long after you have come home?
While you can’t exactly get your kids a real gunship, you can get them an Avatar RDA Scorpion Gunship (on a smaller scale of course!). Toys are getting better and better these days, and with movies like Avatar setting the bar, they have to! Made by Mattel, this toy features incredible detail that kids will marvel at. It has been recreated to look exactly like the ship in the movies during some of the most intense fighting scenes. Kids will have a blast running around and recreating the battle with the ship and other character figures to go with it.
The Avatar RDA Scorpion Gunship includes two firing projectiles so kids can actually knock obstacles out of their way. Rotating gun barrels give it a realistic look and the quadruple spinning blades can fly this baby right through the floating mountains on Pandora. Kids will definitely get their imaginations into this one as they fly around the back yard and choose which side to play on; the Na’vi or RDA.
The cockpit of the gunship opens up so that kids can put in most figures so that characters can fly the ship wherever their imagination takes them. Figures need to be less than 3.75 inches in order to fit inside the cockpit, but it is large enough to fit the majority of Na’vi or RDA figurines. Each Avatar RDA Scorpion Gunship also comes with a specific i-Tag that allows kids to access additional movie-based action.
There is some assembly required, so adults may have to help children put certain parts of the toy together. Because there are missiles that can be fired from the ship, it is recommended that children under 3 years of age do not play with this toy as it can pose a choking hazard. The cockpit hinge is made to snap off, which can help the part avoid breaking should too much torque be applied to it.
Children will love the detail on this choice of Mattel kids toys. It uses real colors as seen in the movie and a high amount of detail, from the rotating wings to each and every projectile. It re-creates the feel of the movie and kids will have a grand time creating Pandora right in their own back yard where wild jungle animals live and the brave Na’vi fight for their homeland. Great for ages 6 and up; they’ll be ready for more Avatar related toys to have their own recreation of the movie.
